Procurement Director (INDIA)

Who You Are:

This position will be in Hyderabad, India but you will be working closely with the team in the United States through video chat, instant messaging, e-mail, phone, and our software. It is important that you have excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral. Roles and Responsibilities:

• Strategic Planning:

o Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the overall business goals and objectives.

o Collaborate with IT leaders and stakeholders to understand their needs and align procurement activities with IT initiatives.

• Vendor Management:

o Identify and evaluate potential IT vendors and suppliers.

o Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure favorable terms and conditions.

o Establish and maintain strong relationships with key IT vendors.

• Cost Management:

o Analyze market trends and conditions to ensure competitive pricing.

o Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality and performance.

o Monitor and control procurement budgets.

• Compliance and Risk Management:

o Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to IT procurement.

o Assess and manage risks associated with IT procurement activities.

o Develop and implement processes to mitigate potential risks.

• Quality Assurance:

o Establish and enforce quality standards for IT products and services.

o Work closely with IT teams to ensure that purchased solutions meet technical specifications and requirements.

• Team Leadership:

o Lead and manage a team of procurement professionals.

o Provide guidance, training, and support to the procurement team.

o Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.

• Contract Management:

o Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, from negotiation to execution and performance monitoring.

o Ensure that contracts are in compliance with organizational policies and standards.

• Technology Trends:

o Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in IT.

o Understand the technology landscape to make informed procurement decisions.

• Continuous Improvement:

o Identify opportunities for process improvement within the procurement function.

o Implement best practices and leverage technology to streamline procurement processes.

• Communication Skills:

o Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and external vendors.

o Present procurement strategies and results to executive leadership.

Requirements:

• In-depth experience in managing end-to-end IT Procurement across multiple subcategories including but not limited to Software, Hardware, Cloud, Outsourcing, etc.,

• Experience with e-procurement and supply chain systems

• A strong commercial skill with the ability to build long-term relationships with stakeholders in the business as well as key suppliers

• Experience in working within a technology/telecommunications business in the supply chain, specializing in creating business value through strategic partnership agreements

• Familiarity with Framework/Master Services Agreements

• Strong academic background is beneficial but not essential

• Procurement technical skills including negotiation skills, contract drafting, drafting of relevant RfPs, etc, and use of category management techniques in setting category plans

• Outstanding negotiation and influencing skills

• Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Applications, especially MS Excel

• Excellent communicator in written, verbal, and presenting skills

A successful Procurement Director in IT should have a strong background in procurement, a good understanding of IT technologies, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to align procurement activities with the overall business strategy. Keeping up with industry trends and fostering positive relationships with vendors are also crucial aspects of the role.
